Which VPN App Should I Use?
The right app depends on your carrier and country. If one stops working, try a different app for the same network before giving up. ISPs target methods, not all apps at once.
SNI-based tunneling that's harder for ISPs to block. Configs tend to stay working for weeks or months. Best starting point for new users on any African network.

VPN config files are small files containing pre-set connection settings for a specific network and VPN app. Instead of manually figuring out servers, payloads and headers, you import the config file into your app and it connects automatically. They are most commonly used with apps like Ha Tunnel Plus, HTTP Custom and HTTP Injector to access free or low-cost internet on mobile networks.
What is the difference between Ha Tunnel Plus and HTTP Custom?
Ha Tunnel Plus uses an SNI-based tunneling method that is harder for ISPs to detect and block, so configs tend to stay working for weeks or months. HTTP Custom is SSL-based and often faster when it works, but configs get patched more frequently. If you are new, start with Ha Tunnel Plus — it is the most widely supported app on African networks.
Why has my config stopped working?
Mobile network operators monitor for VPN exploitation and update their systems to block active configs — this is called getting "patched." It is normal and happens to every working config eventually. Follow our WhatsApp channel to be notified the moment a replacement is published for your network, usually within 24 hours.
Do these configs work without any airtime or data balance?
Most configs exploit zero-rating loopholes — certain domains or ports that carriers exempt from data charges. If the config is set up correctly for your network, it works without a data bundle. Some configs require a small balance to initiate the connection before the tunnel takes over. Check the notes on each config page for specifics.
What is SNI injection and how do VPN config files use it?
SNI (Server Name Indication) is a field in HTTPS connections that identifies which website you are connecting to. Some carriers inspect this field to determine whether traffic is zero-rated. A config file sets a spoofed SNI value matching a domain the carrier does not charge for, so your traffic appears to go somewhere free. The VPN app handles the actual routing behind the scenes.
Why does my config keep disconnecting after a few days?
Carriers update their systems regularly, which patches configs that were previously working. This is expected — no config lasts forever. When your config stops, check our status board or WhatsApp channel. A replacement is usually published within 24 to 48 hours.
